The Asus ROG Phone 2 has just launched (check out my hands-on review) and it's already shaping up to be the best gaming smartphone of 2019. Here's my full comparison with the Black Shark 2 so you can see how these gamer handsets stack up for speed, battery life, specs, features and beyond.
In the battle of ROG Phone 2 vs Black Shark, Asus' new device wins most of the rounds. That mighty 6000mAh battery means impressive longevity for instance, while the Snapdragon 855 Plus platform is faster and packs greater graphical clout compared with the BS2. That display is superior also, boasting 120Hz refresh and the same advantages of the Shark (including serious responsiveness and 10-bit HDR support).
The likes of PubG Mobile will of course run pretty much perfectly on either smartphone, thanks to the powerful Snapdragon performance, dedicated cooling system and premium connectivity. However, the ROG Phone 2 also boasts better accessory support, more useful gaming features (including improved Air Triggers) and top notch stereo audio (with DTS X:Ultra).
Check out my early review of the ROG 2 as well as my accessory round-up for all you need to know.
